Please don´t be alarmed ... I will be out of contact until approximately Jan. 12 (plus or minus a day). I will be riding with Markus to Torres de Paine and then plan on doing some trekking. Internet and phones will be extremely sparse if not non-existant.
Should arrive at Torres de Paine Park (major "trekking Mecca") around Jan 5th.
Next major village after trekking will be Puerto Natales (you can find it on the map).

Winds are from the West. If all holds true, hopefully, I will be faced with cross winds for the next 1000 km. However, today was all headwind.

I must say it was delicious. People have dinner around 10 pm (or later) around here. Also, from 1 pm to 5 pm most shops are closed.

Was a little chilly. This was the ride from "El Crucero" to the beautiful village of Villa La Angostura. Was a long day. Stayed at a rustic Argentinian hostal.

Pod asked, "what I´m on?", well, it is peanut butter, jelly, cheese and bread. And of course the awesome Chilean empanadas. Yum, yum. By the way, this was the first stop after 4 hrs straight riding.

Mining is a HUGE industry in Chile. Gotta be real careful when you see one of these coming at you. As a matter of fact, there was a convoy of 3 lead by a police car about an hour later. I yielded.

I was going through your pictures and thought I saw a nice line on Fitzroy. Probably need a full rack, some cams, three ropes and a very tall ladder. or I could just lend my camera to someone and ask them to get me a shot from the summit. I'll ponder it as i finish this last donut.
Trip looks good. Sounds like having some travelling companions is making it alot more fun. Now at least you have someone else to crush (instead of me on the Wapta). I'd also like to point out that you seem to be spending alot of time on ferries which doesn't really count as riding unless you keep spinning the whole time. I don't make the rules, I just try and make everyone else obey them.
We went in to the Bow Hut/Peyto Traverse over New Years. 3 days on the galcier with my borther, sister in law and my 3 nephews. Those boys are tough nuts. I tried to break them by outskiing them and then eating all the chocolate (just to test them) but they didn't crack. Next I might be getting them bikes and sending them off to you. I'll give them a camera to get some cool piks.

Sounds like Tim will be a good guy to travel with. During the rainy bit the real truth is that misery loves company....and you are both two tough dudes.
We have been burning up the Birkie trails this past week. Dennis C has been very impressed by your site and trip. He is going to head up to Yellowknife this March to do a 6 day adventure race, take your pick with run, snowshoe or ski, sorry no bikes or skate skiing.
Keep yourself hydrated and stay away from the milk products when you have intestinal problems. That is my tip for you.
I have got you signed up to got back country skiing with a few of us when you get back.
