OK, I was a little fatigued today but that was partly due to sharing a few celebratory brews with Rodrigo and Cristian (Guide & assistant) the day before. Hardly drank but enough to throw the engine off a little. As a result of everything I think I am catching a cold (ok, yes, now I would be whining. sorry).
Ride was uneventful with the exception of a "rain delay". First serious rain of the trip.
Am staying in a very old beautiful house which has a few nice rooms that they rent out to travellers. The pueblo is tiny.
Tot time 6 hrs 45 min, ride time 5 hrs 6 min, 109 km, elev gain 590 m, elev loss 811 m.
ps. It was pointed out that the photos are now turning out blurry. I am not sure why. I will try to figure this out.
pps. Am thinking of changing the route again. Might just go through Bariloche, Argentina ... will add a little extra jaunt through Argentina. Would add about 400 km. Still undecided.
I am embarking on a bike tour from La Paz, Bolivia to Tierra del Fuego. I should be on my bike by October 24th. I have three months to complete this journey. I am doing this trip solo ... unless of course I get any last minute (or last second) offers from friends and family who wish to accompany me. The following map shows the approximate route I will be taking. Along the way, I hope to have time to do a little bit of trekking and perhaps enjoy some fine Chilean wine.

Hey Darryl,
Got your blog address from Erik B. What a fantastic adventure you are having. Way better than the -20 days we are having here. Was in SilverStar skiing with Roberta and Liz. Marginal snow but had a good time anyway. Look forward to reading about the rest of your journey.
Henry
Daryl,
Villa Angostura, Barriloche, Esquel, etc. making the way through Argentina is a beautiful scenery area - worth hitting unless you're convinced to go elsewhere. It's like icefield parkway, but... nicer?!
Hi Darryl,
I see that in the few days that I did not have time to read your blog you have had lots of interesting experiences, met some nice people and taken some wonderful pictures. The pictures are really amazing. Specially Lanin...
I might have to plan a trip to Chile myself to see those wonderful things.
Here, nothing much. Tomorrow is my last day of school and my first exam. Two more exams and the University is over. We have to celebrate when you come back.
Take of you.
Besos,
Ana
Hi Darryl,
Wow adding on another 400 km that is an additional 800 really. I showed your site to one of the docs I work with. He is off to New Zealand with his family for 6 weeks. Mike Bus did a couple supported cycling trip there a couple times. I have an idea for your next trip.....
Some of your pics have an element of snow in them. Are you missing winter and skiing? We have a fair bit snow here and getting more. I did hear that Silver Star was not its usual spectacular. Hard not to have a good time there as Henery said.
Maddie and I got followed by a coyote in the park the other day. I guess she looked like a big supper. I kept looking for his buddies glad I did not see them.
How is the rubber doing, any more flats? Will your tires last the trip? Do we need to send you a set for xmas?
Joy
